This major provides an ample curriculum so that the student has the opportunity to know the different current technological trends and to develop his level of competition in the use of emergent applications, in the field of information systems. The commitment of this major is to develop professionals able to become effective agents of change in their field, for the benefit of the organization and society in general.

Program Objectives:

  • To provide students with the technical skills and the understanding of the socio-economic institutional framework within which businesses operate, that enable them to perform the responsibilities of leaders in executive positions.
  • To provide training for different productive sectors of the economy including the public sector.
  • To improve and develop the technical skills required by the person currently holding positions in business administration in the area of computers information systems.
  • To provide technical knowledge of diverse computerized systems and applications.
  • To stimulate a positive attitude toward education, strengthening the concept of education as an on-going process.
  • To promote participation in community affairs.
  • To provide workshops in management techniques, marketing, accounting, and computers.

Program Outcomes:

The students will:

  • Establish and maintain a continuous development in technology.
  • Promote changes in the accountant's environment.
  • Work in accountability positions in the private industry as well as in government agencies.
  • Possess knowledge in design and application of computer systems.
  • Prepare reports in English and Spanish.
  • Enroll in continuing education courses.
  • Communicate adequately in English & Spanish, both orally and in writing.
